Counting down the hours...

After some chaos at the airport this morning...we made it to D.C.!
The lady at the ticket counter definitely needed more coffee or something.
There was some miscommunication on their part & our bags almost went straight to Uganda!
Luckily, they straightened everything out & our Nashville crew thankfully ended up with all 15 checked bags!
Want to see what that looks like?

Arrived at our hotel & our rooms still weren't ready yet so we stored our bags & went to get lunch.
I think all of us were definitely running on adrenaline & it just hit us all- we needed a nap after a big lunch.
After we checked in, most of the team decided to rest until dinner time.
We gathered in the hotel lobby for a team dinner! What a fun group of ladies!!
It is so great seeing all of the different personalities :)
I'm excited to see what God is up to with this group!
So far, we have 18 team members
We have 1 more team member arriving yet tonight, her flight was delayed. Praying she arrives safely!
Tomorrow, we meet up with 3 more team members to complete our team of 22!
So excited for this adventure to begin!
Boarding Ethiopian Airlines at 12:00 PM tomorrow- straight to Addis Ababa airport in Ethiopia!

That 5:30 AM alarm is going to come quick- so good night everyone!
Thanks for all of your prayers!
Next blog post will most likely come from Africa!

Blessings,
Brenda

Women on a Mission...

Well, here we are! Off to D.C. tomorrow with most of our team..

and then on Sunday it's off to AFRICA we go!
22 women. Lots of luggage. 2 countries. Lots of children to love...and a big, big GOD!

“How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, ‘Your God Reigns'." Isaiah 52:7

Please PRAY that:
  • God would be glorified by EVERY aspect of our trip
  • Each of us, as well as the ministries & children with whom we work and share with would have a personal and powerful encounter with God
  • The unconditional love of God would radiate in and through each of our lives
  • God would put a hedge of protection around the entire trip
  • Satan would be bound from anything that distracts anyone from hearing the voice of God in the area where we’ll be sharing the love of Christ
  • All participating on this trip would be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit
  • God’s Word would be proclaimed with power and produce life change (transformation)
  • God would give us strength and good health through the trip
  • God would protect and provide for family members back home
  • God would give wisdom to those speaking and teaching and listening ears to the people we come in contact with during the trip
  • Divine appointments, both with those we share with as well as other we might encounter while traveling
  • All team members and translators would be bold and creative in sharing our faith
  • We would make quick adjustments to time and cultural changes
  • Revival would break out with people to whom we minister
  • Angels would surround our flights
  • We are all able to sleep well on the plane in order to be refreshed to do God's work
  • All of our team members and all of our luggage will arrive safely
  • God would protect us during our in-country travels since we will be doing a lot of it on this trip
  • Many orphan children will know they are loved by us, and most importantly -  by their HEAVENLY FATHER!
Thank you for all of your love, support & prayers!

Brenda

Is God calling you to GO?

Take a glimpse into a Visiting Orphans mission trip to Africa!
Why not you? Why not Africa? Why not now?

Sometimes I
I just want to close my eyes
And act like everyone's alright
When I know they're not

This world needs God
But it's easier to stand and watch
I could say a prayer and just move on
Like nothing's wrong

But I refuse

'Cause I don't want to live like I don't care
I don't want to say another empty prayer
Oh, I refuse

To sit around and wait for someone else
To do what God has called me to do myself

Oh, I could choose
Not to move but I refuse

I can hear the least of these
Crying out so desperately
And I know we are the hands and feet
Of You, oh God

So, if You say move
It's time for me to follow through
And do what I was made to do
Show them who You are

'Cause I don't want to live like I don't care
I don't want to say another empty prayer
Oh, I refuse

To sit around and wait for someone else
To do what God has called me to do myself
Oh, I could choose
Not to move but I refuse

To stand and watch the weary and lost
Cry out for help
I refuse to turn my back
And try and act like all is well

I refuse to stay unchanged
To wait another day, to die to myself
I refuse to make one more excuse

'Cause I don't want to live like I don't care
I don't want to say another empty prayer
Oh, I refuse

To sit around and wait for someone else
To do what God has called me to do myself
Oh, I could choose
Not to move but I refuse

I refuse
I refuse
